When I read, I'm always keen to discover how the writer creates interesting characters, or an exciting plot, or a believable setting, or realistic dialogue. I look for the way they handle words, paragraphs, sentences, and punctuation. I try to see how they arrange incidents to keep the story interesting. What I learn helps me write better.
